7th International Food Festival in Puerto Aventuras
On Sunday, March 19th, the Puerto Aventuras Colonos Association hosted its 7th International Food Festival in beautiful Puerto Aventuras, an exclusive residential resort community set around a deep water marina in the heart of Mexico’s Riviera Maya.
Around 300 people attended this wonderful family-friendly community event, which showcased a variety of delicious Mexican and international cuisine, including traditional dishes from different areas of Mexico, such as Oaxaca, Chiapas, Baja California, Yucatan, and others. There was even a live mariachi band to entertain diners as they sampled all of the tasty dishes.
The Puerto Aventuras International Food Festival originated in 2009 as part of the functions of the Puerto Aventuras Colonos Association, which establishes cultural and sports activities for the community of Puerto Aventuras. It started out with people from the local community and little by little has been adding participants from nearby towns, including Playa del Carmen and Tulum. This year marked the 7th edition of the food festival (there were 2 years that it didn't take place), and it featured 21 participating food stalls, including 8 restaurants.
What a great way to celebrate Mexican culture and cusine while also helping to support the local community of Puerto Aventuras. We're already looking forward to next year!
