Cocktails and canapes were served while the mingled and guests enjoyed the stunning Caribbean ocean views before the presentation.

Thompson Playa del Carmen is a new concept luxury boutique hotel located in the heart of Playa del Carmen on the world famous 5th Avenue just steps away from some of the most gorgeous white sand beaches that Mexico has to offer. The Thompson Playa del Carmen affords its privileged guests a first-of-its-kind hotel experience in Playa del Carmen inspired by two different lifestyles; the central main Thompson Playa del Carmen hotel and the intimate Beach House located oceanfront, just a 2 blocks away, which offers a distinctive atmosphere.

This first class trendy hotel will also house CATCH, the famous culinary experience brought to the discerning residents of the Riviera Maya all the way from the New York City. The restaurant will be on the 30,000 square foot rooftop terrace of the hotel with stunning views of the turquoise Caribbean Sea and of downtown Playa del Carmen. Pedro Abascal will be the head Chef of Restaurant Catch. Originally from the city of Morelia, Michoacan, he will be orchestrating a New York culinary concept as well as the casual style menu and beach grill for the Beach House. Catch will be located in the main building, on the captivating rooftop next to the open air terrace, evoking the feeling from the beach. The rooftop will also feature gardens and a "live wall". The restaurant and bar will be open to the public; everyone with a taste for luxury will be able to enjoy this unique experience in the heart of Playa del Carmen.

Dario Flota Ocampo, Director in Fideicomiso of Tourism Promotion of the Riviera Maya, welcomed the Thompson Hotel team, to be part of the Playa del Carmen family.

The first Thompson hotel in Playa del Carmen opens to the public in the fall of 2015. The downtown section of the hotel will offer its guests a colorful urban atmosphere and a real connection to the pulse of the city of Playa del Carmen. The Beach House, located only a few blocks from the main hotel, is a more intimate bohemian style experience, with a total of 27 luxurious rooms and suites, each one with their own private terrace, pool facing the ocean, private cabanas as well as a restaurant and a casual bar: all facing the dazzling Mexican Caribbean sea.

The Beach House will be ready to open its doors in early 2016. Both the main building and the Beach House will honor the historical heritage of Playa del Carmen and will contribute to the design, culinary experience and nightlife of our beloved city by the sea. The main hotel evokes a vibrant metropolitan ambiance with 92 rooms that have contemporary decor in a mid-century Mexico-Caribbean style.
