Halloween and Day of the Dead Events 2018
October in Playa del Carmen is in full swing, and even though we're in the middle of “low season”, you’ll still find plenty of things to do with the upcoming Halloween and Day of the Dead holidays. Halloween falls on October 31 and Day of the Dead is a 2-day celebration on November 1 and 2; since Playa del Carmen celebrates both, you’ll have several straight days of parties, celebrations, and cultural events. Below is our list of Halloween and Day of the Dead events in Playa del Carmen for 2018. We’ll be updating as the dates get closer!
Festival of Life and Death at Xcaret Park
As always, the year's biggest event will be the Festival of Life and Death at Xcaret Park. This 4-night Day of the Dead celebration runs every evening from October 30 to November 2, offering endless cultural activities, tons of stuff for kids, a Mexican cemetery, and beautiful shows. Catrina Parade on 5th Avenue
Enjoy an evening of art and culture at Playa del Carmen's annual Desfile de Catrinas (Catrina Parade). The parade down 5th Avenue is taking place on October 27 from 5pm to 9pm.
Amor y Muerte at the City Theater
Enjoy a captivating performance of Amor y Muerte, a beautiful and cultural way to experience Day of the Dead, at the Teatro de la Ciudad (City Theater) in Playa del Carmen. The show is October 28 at 7pm and tickets are on sale now.
Halloween Costume Party at La Sirena
La Sirena in Puerto Morelos is hosting its 5th annual Halloween costume party on October 31 at 8:30pm. The theme is zombie disco and there will be drink specials, a live DJ, and prizes for the best costume. You don't have to dress up, but you should!
Halloween Party at La Buena Vida
Don't miss the Annual Halloween Party on the beach at La Buena Vida in North Akumal! The festivities start around 7:30pm.
Halloween Party at Diablito Cha Cha Cha
On October 31, Diablito Cha Cha Cha is hosting a Halloween costume party with music by La Santanera & The Magic House.
Angels and Devils Party at Thompson Rooftop
Wear your best Halloween Costume and party along with International Star Chefs like Dominique Crenn & Jeremiah Tower as well as the most celebrated chefs of Mexico. This is the opening night event for the 2018 Cancun Riviera Maya Wine and Food Festival.
Halloween Party at Selina
Halloween night is guaranteed to be a blast with the Vintage People at Selina Playa del Carmen. There will be a costume contest, no cover, and ladies open bar from 9pm to11pm.
Day of the Dead Party at Buzos
Bring the whole family to a Day of the Dead celebration on Halloween night at Buzos. This kid-friendly event will feature a costume contest, a haunted house, a piñata, and more. Enjoy a welcome cocktail and a spooky buffet for the kids.
Halloween Party at The Reef 28
The Reef 28 is hosting a Fiesta de Muertos on Wednesday, October 31st on the rooftop from 7pm with the best beats by Dj Zavala! Costume contest, prizes, the best cocktails of Playa del Carmen and an incredible ocean view!
