Mexican Independence Day Events 2018
On the night of September 15th, the entire country of Mexico will come together to celebrate their independence. Every year Mexicans gather at their local zocalos, bars and restaurants for “El Grito” (The Cry of Independence), yelling “Viva Mexico!” out of pride for this amazing country.
And in Playa del Carmen, we will be doing the same. Just like any other year, for September 15, 2018 many local bars, restaurants and even beach clubs are offering specials and fun Mexican events. Here’s the list of the ones we have found so far:
Independence Day Party at Mayakoba
When: Saturday September 15 at 7pm
Where: El Camaleón Golf Course at Mayakoba resort complex, entrance off the highway 5 minutes north of Playa del Carmen
El Camaleón Golf Course at Mayakoba is the perfect atmosphere to celebrate Mexican Independence Day! The fiesta will feature fireworks, mariachi music, and incredible cuisine. You'll also be able to watch the Canelo fight on the big screen.
Admission is $1,500 pesos and includes food and drinks. All proceeds benefit the Casa de la Amistad.
Independence Day Party at Thompson Playa del Carmen
When: Saturday September 15, 6pm to 2am
Where: Thompson Playa del Carmen, Calle 12 between 5th Ave. and 10th Ave.
For Independence Day, Cinco Restaurant transforms into an authentic Mexican Cantina. Enjoy live mariachis, trios, and norteños, as well as a DJ as the night progresses. Feast on botana-style bites while playing classic games like dominoes and Pin the Tail on the Donkey. Or, just kick back with a cocktail from Tequila Herradura and take in the Canelo fight - broadcasted live!

Independence Day Party at Plank
When: Saturday September 15 at 8pm
Where: Plank Gourmet Grill and Patio Bar, Calle 16 between 1st Ave. and 5th Ave.
Celebrate Mexican Independence Day at Plank and enjoy a night of delicious Mexican food, live entertainment and traditional drinks.

15 September Party at Luna Blue
When: Saturday, September 15 at 9pm
Where: Luna Blue Hotel & Bar, Calle 26 Norte
Luna Blue is hosting a Mexican Independence Day party featuring Mike Grabow and Josh Green live music.
Viva Mexico Old School Party
When: Saturday, September 15 at 7pm
Where: It Ganesha, Calle 44 and 1st Ave Norte
Celebrate Mexican Independence Day with DJ Jonathon Soul and free tequila shots.

Wine Pairing Dinner at Platinum Yucatan Princess
When: Saturday, September 15 at 7pm
Where: Skylights Restaurant by Platinum Yucatan Princess
Platinum Yucatan Princess is hosting a special 7-course dinner prepared by Chef Agustin Puc at Skylights Restaurant along with live entertainment. Local discount available.
Sabor Latino Social
When: Saturday, September 15 at 9pm

Enjoy an evening of Mexican food, drinks and dancing in celebration of Mexican Independence Day.
Admission is $100 pesos. All proceeds benefit Cocos Animal Welfare.
Mexican Karaoke Fiesta

Celebrate Mexican Independence Day with karaoke, 2x1 beers, and $40 pesos tequila and mezcal shots.
