PITCH IN PLAYA- MEET THE PLAYERS
Pitch In Playa del Carmen is a non-profit organization started by local Ex-Pats and Playenses to help the baseball team Los Delfines make a dream come true.
This team is made up of kids of ages 14 - 16 who all dream of playing pro one day. The team has few resources to help with transportation and lodging for the families to get to the games.
Despite the poor condition of the playing field and lack of good equipment, Los Delfines have made it to the Semi- Finals.
They have been selected to represent Quintana Roo in a semi-final game in Zimapan, Hidalgo. They must leave by May 1, which gives us only 2 weeks to help them raise the funds for the trip. They will need transportation, lodging, and food.
Pitch In Playa del Carmen will try to contact local businesses to sponsor the boys, but in the meantime, is reaching out to you all to ask if you'd like to sponsor one of these boys. It will cost approximately $100 usd per boy to send them to Hidalgo. Please look through these photos and contact Pitch In Playa del Carmen to sponsor one of these boys--no sponsorship amount is too small or too large!
They desperately need help making it to the big game in Hidalgo!!! Pitch In Playa del Carmen wants to help this team make their dreams come true by finding sponsors for each member of the team. Help them get to this game and hopefully to the NEXT!
Check out the facebook page, or email pitchinplaya@gmail.com for information or to SPONSOR A PLAYER!
They even have a chance of participating in the little league world series in the United States with your help!!
Meet the team.

William wears the lucky number 7. He is 14 years old and is originally from Oaxaca.
Jafet is 16 years old and his favorite baseball team, besides Los Delfines, is the Giants. Ever is also 16 years old. He is from Tabasco and he plays short stop and pitcher.
Lino is from Veracruz. He is 15 years old. He likes to pitch and play first base.
The coach of Los Delfines spends his time coaching these kids for free and doing what he can to clean up the baseball fields that are all but forgotten. For him it is a labor of love. He wants these young men to learn the value of being part of something and working towards a common goal.
The umpire is easy with a smile and is used to getting heckled. He is a good spirit who has years of working with baseball teams. He stressed the important role that sports play in the lives of these young men, giving them a place to be instead of on the streets where they could easily turn to drugs and alcohol.
Los Delfines cheerleaders. The proudly cheer on the team. They are the hardworking family members of the team who find ways to scrape together equipment and transportation every weekend for the games and during the week for practice. They make daily sacrifices for the team. These women pull together to keep the team alive and moving forward, to keep their sons busy, out of trouble and away from the drug and alcohol problems that effect many of today's youth.
If we all pitch in to sponsor a player the team can fulfill the first of many big dreams, to make it to the semi-finals.
