6th Annual Seaside Rotary Golf Classic in Playa del Carmen
Mark your calendars! The 6th Annual Seaside Rotary Golf Classic will take place on March 17, 2018 at the Hard Rock Riviera Maya Golf Club in Playacar.
The Seaside Rotary Golf Classic is a charity golf tournament to support the Playa del Carmen Seaside Rotary Club, a club dedicated to helping to improve the lives of disadvantaged youth and families in Playa del Carmen through fundraising and volunteer support for local charitable organizations.
The Seaside Rotary Golf Classic is the largest fundraising event of the year for the Playa del Carmen Seaside Rotary Club, so come out and show your support!
There will be trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, as well as additional prizes for categories like “Closest to the Pin”, “Longest Drive” and “Beat the Pro”. For the second year in a row, the tournament will also feature a “Seaside Rotary MILLION Peso Shoot-Out”. Prizes for the golfers are donated by local businesses and 100% of the net proceeds from the Seaside Rotary Golf Classic go toward charitable programs and initiatives in the community that support Seaside Rotary’s mission.
Proceeds from previous tournaments have been used to provide medical equipment and supplies to the new Red Cross Hospital in Playa del Carmen, to fund an innovative therapy program for children with autism, and to help install a clean water system in the remote community of Cristo Rey. A portion of the funds from this year’s charity golf tournament has been earmarked for the expansion of an ongoing project to provide nutritious meals, three days a week, for 80 children living in Torres de la Paz, a distressed jungle community with few resources.
