Blues For Peace: A Music Festival for a Great Cause
The first edition of the Caribbean Blues Festival, "Blues For Peace Mexico 2016" was a double event that took place last year in more than 40 countries on May 27th, 28th, 29th and 30th of 2016. The festival consisted of Blues Band concerts simultaneously in multiple "venues" around the world. Most of the funds raised from concert tickets were donated to UNHCR's "United Nations Refugee Agency". The UNHCR is a global organization dedicated to saving lives, protecting rights and building a better future for refugees, forcibly displaced communities and stateless people.
The 2016 "Blues For Peace International" and the "First Caribbean Blues Festival in Quintana Roo" took place in more than 40 countries and cities around the world.
This year, the festival is pleased and proud to announce that an important and special event has been added to the various concerts in Cancun and Playa del Carmen: The first "Cancun Guitar Parade 2017". This event takes place on Friday, June 30th, the opening day of the Caribbean Blues Festival, behind Cancun's City Hall on Avenida Nader, where important local artists will be painting on spectacular 2-meter-high guitars, while the first Blues chords start playing for the kick off of the festival.
The second venue also in Cancun, will be at the world famous Hard Rock Café on July 1st. Finally, for the 3rd and last day, the Caribbean Blues Festival 2017 decided to close the event at the also world famous Zenzi Beach Club in Playa del Carmen: a perfect white sandy venue with ocean breeze and breathtaking turquoise water views. The closing event will start at 2pm at Zenzi for an all day and evening long of Blues music with local and international artists. Zenzi Beach Club has a special love affair with Blues music: Every day from 5pm to 8:30pm, the downtown beach club features Rock and Blues live bands. And in addition to Blues, Zenzi Beach also features salsa dance classes and live band, reggae, Rock Pop and Brazilian nights, all by live bands on the Caribbean beach!
This is an amazing new music festival you can not miss, where by purchasing the ticket for those concerts (only 200 pesos), you will also be contributing to the refugee cause and helping the organizations that support them and working hard to do as much as they can for fellow habitants of this world. Blues, dance, beach, helping a great cause and even the chance to win an authentic Fender guitar?? Yes, please!
