Coco's Benefit a Success

On Saturday, April 1st, Coco’s Animal Welfare celebrated its 8th annual cocktail party/benefit. A silent auction was held at the Fiesta Inn to help fund Coco’s mission; to provide free spay and neuter services to cats and dogs in the Playa del Carmen area.

Everything auctioned was generously donated. Things like hotel stays, spa treatments, fine jewelry, and art pieces, and of course pet toys were available along with lots more. Fiesta Inn donated two drinks to all those who attended.

Hundreds of people came and enjoyed the D.J., the excellent live band and several raffles. The benefit was a true success.

Here is what was raised according to Coco’s website (in pesos):

$55,000 in ticket sales

$1,950 in merchandise

$77,931 in the auction

$2,025 from a raffle

This gives a grand total of $138,203 pesos.

What a fun way to raise money for such a noble cause. If you would like to donate to Coco’s Animal Welfare please follow this link: cocosanimalwelfare.org
