Divas Nights in Playa del Carmen
A tropical garden setting, mouthwatering cuisine, incredible singing by Playa del Carmen locals… it’s all part of Divas Night right here in Playa del Carmen.
Hosted at the charming El Jardin restaurant, Divas Night takes place every Friday evening starting at 6:00 pm and lasting until 10:00 pm, featuring all kinds of music like jazz, soul, opera and much more performed by some of the best vocal artists and musicians in our little beach city of Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
El Jardin is a lovely outdoor eatery that serves what the owners call “Yucacheca” cuisine, a blend of local Yucatecan cuisine and Czech cuisine! The restaurant serves enticing breakfasts and lunches, open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, along with its weekly Divas Night every Friday evening. On its Divas Nights, El Jardin offers a small menu of Mexican-inspired appetizers, seafood, Mayan cuisine and more, as well as beer, wine, margaritas and mojitos to drink. (Just make sure to come back another day to try their amazing breakfasts and lunches!)
El Jardin is owned by couple Paula Liebe (Dutch expat) and Honza Mlejnek (Czech expat), and Paula is even one of the featured artists at Divas Night thanks to her beautiful contralto vocals!
These weekly musical events are a great way to meet other Playa del Carmen expats and locals, all while savoring local cuisine and experiencing a true “Playa-style” concert! Have a seat under the stars, ask your waiter for some cervezas and listen to all kinds of music sung by Playa del Carmen divas!
El Jardin restaurant sits in a lush tropical garden with a wonderful central location in Downtown Playa del Carmen, on 20th Street between 10th Avenue and 15th Avenue; enjoy a late Friday afternoon stroll along 5th, then pop by El Jardin for some music!
