Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Playa del Carmen
On March 14, 15 and 16, Explayarte will present its latest musical production, the rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar, at the beautiful City Theater right here in Playa del Carmen!
The story is loosely based on the Gospels' accounts of the last week of Jesus' life, beginning with his arrival in in Jerusalem and ending with the crucifixion. It depicts political and interpersonal struggles between Judas Iscariot and Jesus that are not present in the Bible (wikipedia).
Explayarte opened its doors in 2003 as the first music school in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, teaching areas like music, performing arts, visual arts, and sound engineering, and has been hosting musical theater workshops for the past seven years. In doing so, the school provides students the opportunity to showcase their unique talents in a professional manner.
