Running for Education at Xplor Bravest Race

If you read our previous blog post, then you already know that the Bravest Race is a challenging mud-run-style 5K obstacle race at Xplor Park in the Riviera Maya. It's the kind of race where you have to run, jump, swim, climb, and crawl to get to the finish line.

This year, one of our favorite Playa del Carmen restaurants, Sundowner Yacht Club, is putting together a team of runners to participate in the Bravest Race and they'll be running to raise money for The KKIS Project, a registered Mexican nonprofit that works to keep economically disadvantaged kids in school by providing them with the tools they need to succeed.

You can help by sponsoring a runner for every kilometer they run in the 5K obstacle race. But don't wait, Xplor Bravest Race is just a few weeks away! To sponsor a runner, stop by the restaurant at Plaza Coba in Playa del Carmen. Anyone stopping in to sponsor a runner will get a beer or Sundowner cocktail on the house. And don't forget to join them at the after party!

For those of you who won’t be in town to attend but would still like to sponsor a runner, click here to follow Sundowner Yacht Club on Facebook and find out how.

Sundowner Yacht Club is the first Australian restaurant in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Opened in August of 2017, they serve delicious fresh seafood dishes and fabulous cocktails. Click here to read our Q&A with Sundowner Yacht Club owner Heathe St. Claire.

The KKIS Project provides school supplies, scholarships, and English conversation classes to public schools in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. KKIS envisions a future where every student graduates from high school and where educational challenge is inspiring and fun. KKIS works to motivate and assist public school administrators, teachers, students and parents through five programs that provide financial assistance, connections, and support.
