Nestled in the heart of Playa del Carmen, The Fives Downtown and Lola Rooftop offer some of the best ocean views in town. Every Saturday, from 12pm to 4pm, Lola Rooftop transforms into a vibrant Fish Market concept that brings together delicious seafood, live music and breathtaking views of the Mexican Caribbean Sea. This weekly food event has become a must-visit destination for seafood lovers and those seeking a lively and unique foodie experience.
Stepping onto Lola Rooftop feels like entering a seafood lover's paradise. The aromas of the ocean mingle with the inviting sounds of live music, creating a perfect Saturday atmosphere. The centerpiece of this event is the expansive Fish Market menu, offering an impressive selection of culinary delights.
From traditional favorites to unique creations, the menu is adapted to every palate. From nicely seasoned paella, to ceviches, aguachiles, succulent mussels, shrimps and tender clams. You can hit up the grill station that serves up a selection of mouthwatering seafood, including salmon, Mahi Mahi, octopus and even Ribeye for the meat lovers. The Pièce de résistance is the octopus "al pastor" station, where the tender octopus is marinated and cooked to perfection, offering a delightful twist on a beloved Mexican dish.
Not only delicious and fresh salads are also offered, as well as other side dishes, you will also get to enjoy the dessert stations as much as we did!
We were also offered a free (the first one is offered as a curtesy) cocktail made with an incredibly savory Mexican Gin called Condesa Gin. It is a "micro-batch gin, hand-formulated and distilled in Mexico City". We LOVED IT!!
What sets this weekly event apart is its exceptional value for money. For a fixed price of 499 MXN Pesos, guests can enjoy an all-you-can-eat seafood feast that showcases incredible flavors of the sea. It is worth noting that drinks are not included in the package.
