La Corteria & The Roof 28: Serving Up Bbq and Ocean Views
Living in Playa del Carmen has its perks! We always get to be steps away from the turquoise sea and its white sand beaches. Wherever we go, we can feel warm ocean breezes, smell the sea salt in the air and we can fill our eyes with the calming turquoise color; even from the rooftop of a downtown building! This is why this downtown location was the obvious choice for such a cool and unique foodie event.
Hosted by The Roof 28, the rooftop of The Reef Hotel located on 28th street and the corner of 1st avenue, a true meat lovers gathering was organized by La Corteria who grilled fantastic cuts of meat for a 3 hour all-you-can-eat meat-extravaganza!
La Corteria is a restaurant and meat club. This restaurant is well known by local families and friends, as they feel right at home when enjoying lunch or dinner with exceptional meat cuts grilled to perfection. A new location is soon to be announced… so stay tuned, BuyPlaya will be sure to announce its newest location soon!
If you are grill lovers like we are, you will be thrilled to know that you can also purchase meat from them to cook or grill at home. They sell frozen cuts and different packages (paquetes), but they also sell cooked meats for delivery, and they do private BBQs for events and parties as well.
“The Roof is on Fire” event was created for all the Playa del Carmen meat lovers and foodies that enjoy first-rate cuts, gorgeous ocean views, fabulous music and great company. This very first event was such a success that it was decided that it will become a twice-a-month event. The collaboration between La Corteria and The Roof 28 could not have worked any better. They had both previously worked together for Christian Lozada’s foundation (Integralo) and so together they came up with the idea of this grill event with ocean views. Christian is the general manager of La Corteria, as well as the grill master for his events!
You can expect to eat Aguja Norteña, Arrachera, New York Steaks, Picaña, Chistorra, Chorizo, grilled sweet corn, volcanes (tortilla with cheese), and more delectable surprises at the next event that will take place October 16th on the rooftop of The Reef Hotel, The Roof 28 (calle 28th corner 1rst avenue).
